candid stamps

i wish we all spoke in a stream of conscious.

or at least could write each other letters in it

oh can you imagine?

all your thoughts to a single person on one sheet of paper

or many sheets

some people make you believe

an entire dictionary could never sum them up

this is neither to praise nor arraign

but just an nod to those with a lot on their mind

and you sent it in an envelope

sealed and at their front door.

i could never. because i would want to watch them read it.

like how you write a birthday card with an inside joke in it

maybe a stick figure illustration

because they deserve that detail

and you peak over as their opening your gift

just making sure

making sure you're connecting on an empathic level

on some deeper level then the amazon chia pet you order 3 days before

thanks prime

it would be so messy

but can you imagine how much we would understand

or give up understanding all together

there would have to be more togetherness

how could there not be?

if we all put strength behind our words

validation in the smallest ways

a nod

a smile

a hand

the word fine

would never find its way into a sentence again

there would be more laughter

more out of breath wheezing

that is the best kind

when your eyes tear up and you double over

squeaking for someone to just stop

PLEASE

im crying im crying

but in the best way

and your lips are stretched

and your jaw is sore

and that last laugh escapes

so it carries you right back in
