the perfect temperature
a hard thing to find when we convince ourselves it’s never quite right
too hot
too cold
too windy
too sunny
i didn’t put on sunscreen
i wish i brought a jacket
just a few degrees
hotter
colder
could make all the difference
but then i’m walking between the trees
utterly content to my skin deep in these shy rays of sun
confident the flicker of wind will pass
leaving me refreshed
happy to walk in, among, through, and between these changing paths satisfied to feel more warmth on my face, because this is spring and life is here and we are alive.
