excuse me, the man says
and motions to something I cannot see. im sorry?
look out at this deer
shes swimming across the river
my mouth parts, impressed at this new sight:
here is this deer. she sees what she needs on the other shore
and the distance doesn’t scare her,
as she patiently paddles across
a steady ripple falls behind her path.
the water is forgiving today. a gentle sun touches the surface
this current lies low and slow,
as if to invite her in.
while catching this on paper,
my eyes lose the soft ripple across the river
the sun hangs lower
the sky grows tired
but I know she found that patch of beach beyond
to stand up, to move forward. This shore welcomes newcomers who
search for a refresh, a restart, in this pastel light
i like reading about love by myself and taking poorly timed timer pictures
ive been listening to automobile by KALEO and it fills me up
You truly look so lovely in this.
